We and the sun leave each other mutually
by this half-coliseum pool, venn diagram
of unmet needs two dirty plates on a table,
don’t say it in a song yet, there is so much fault
to consider, how I am supposed to be right
for someone & we are both changing less
& less, at the restaurant of our not-to-be-
fathomed income gap, who broke the swirl
of softened butter, took the first warmed bite,
these shapes are normal for you, let’s conflate
airline miles with motivation, stack these
dishes & solve for it, which of us needs more
to let one plan slide off your full plate,
youth is made for our forthcoming lives’
work, light years are wasted on the will-travel
