Sofía Esperanza Lavoe

Author Biography

Sofía Esperanza Lavoe is a Colombian-American storyteller, poet, and aspiring cultural historian. The daughter of a Spanglish speaking mother, Sofía grew up endlessly intrigued by the liminal spaces existing between languages, cultures and memories. She explores these landscapes through her eco-literature inspired writing, her work composed of fragile truths padded by a lush, mossy lexicon. The anthropomorphized Earth of Lavoe’s work is influenced by her indigenous ancestral partnership with the Land, one she finds solace in and her prose breathes life into. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors of Science with an emphasis in Cultural History of the Arts.
